Korean Sool Grand Festival 2024 Presents Traditional Alcoholic Beverages of Highest Quality
Sejong, 14 November 2024— The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) will hold the Korean Sool Grand Festival 2024 at aT Centre in Seoul from 15 to 17 November.
The Korean Sool Grand Festival is South Korea’s largest traditional Korean alcoholic beverage event, with this year marking the 14th anniversary. The event aims to raise consumers’ awareness of traditional Korean alcoholic beverages and promote the consumption. With 116 breweries, distilleries, and wineries coming from across the nation and with approximately 6,200 pre-registered visitors, a threefold increase from last year, this year’s event is expected to be the largest one ever.
The Korean alcoholic beverage festival consists of diverse programmes for hands-on experiences such as makgeolli making. The festival also provides side events such as the award ceremony of the Korean Sool Award, a special auction for limited editions of traditional Korean alcoholic beverages, a seminar on the latest trend of alcoholic drinks, etc.
The Korean Sool Award is the government-hosted competition to select and award Korea’s traditional alcoholic beverages of the most excellent quality.
