International Buyers and Korean Exporters Meet at Korea Seed Expo 2025 for Trade of K-Seeds
Sejong, 20 October 2025— On 20 October, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) has announced that Korea Seed Expo 2025 will be held from 22 to 24 October at the Private Seed Research Complex in Gimje-si (the city of Gimje) in Jeollabuk-do (the province of North Jeolla). Korea Seed Expo, the only seed industry exposition of the Republic of Korea, has been held annually since 2017 and marks its 9th edition this year. The exposition aims to promote superior seed varieties developed by Korean seed companies to the global market.
This year’s exposition will have 97 seed companies, companies from forward- and backward-linked industries, public institutions, and organizations. The event will feature the latest products and agricultural technologies in the seed industry, such as Korean seed varieties, agricultural materials, and seed development and management systems.
The outdoor demonstration farm for cultivation of seed varieties, a highlight of the event, will display 482 varieties from 51 crops, cultivated by seed companies and government agencies. This allows international buyers, farmers, and visitors to observe the growth status of the crops and evaluate their characteristics.
In addition, the exposition aims to achieve KRW 8.1 billion or more in export contracts by discovering 88 new international buyers and holding buyers-exporters meetings. In a preliminary buyers-exporters meeting held on an online platform from 25 August to 5 September, 13 Korean companies and 9 foreign companies signed export contracts worth approximately USD 195,000.
Various academic events will also be held, in conjunction with the exposition, organized by the Korean Society for Seed Science & Industry and the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences.
