Korea Talks with Leaders of Female Farmers to
Nurture Female Farmers
Agriculture Minister Song said: “I will make efforts to closely communicate more frequently
with female farmers so that rural agricultural areas can become a place where they can find
happier living, working, and resting.”
Sejong, 26 January 2024 — On 23 January 2024, Minister Song Mi-ryung of Agriculture,
Food and Rural Affairs had a meeting on nurturing female farmers with representatives of five
organizations for female farmers: the Korea Rural Environment and Home Economics Federation,
the Woman Farmer’s Association, the Korea Woman Peasants Association, the Lady Farmers
Cooperative, and the National Association of Women Farmers’ Centres.
Minister Song said: “Female farmers are another big pillar that has propped up and developed
the nation’s rural agricultural communities and agriculture. I will make efforts to closely communicate
with female farmers more frequently so that rural agricultural areas can become a place where
they can find happier living, working, and resting.”
