Opinions will be gathered with famous chefs of the world to promote Korean food
- The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will hold 「HANSIK Conference 2023」(October 24~26, Samcheonggak in Seoul)
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Minister Chung Hwang-keun, MAFRA) and the Korean Food Promotion Institute (Chairperson Yim Kyung-sook) will hold 「HANSIK Conference 2023」on October 26 (Thursday) to continuously promote the popularity of Korean food in the world.
The Conference is held under the theme of "Adventurous Table" and joined by world-famous food and beverage (F&B) experts and media. An invitational event to experience Korean culinary culture to enhance the understanding of Korean food (October 24 to 25) and a conference to discuss how to further spread Korean food (October 26) will be held.
Famous chefs (chefs) from overseas countries including Founder and President José Carlos Capel of Madrid Fusion*, one of the most influential culinary festivals in the world; Director Joxe Mari Aizega* of the Basque Culinary Center*, a pioneering culinary academic institution worldwide; and a former Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Mitchell Davis of the James Beard Foundation*, one of the most prestigious culinary foundations of the United States will participate in the event.

The conference will be held under the three themes (①Global value of Korean food and ways of future development, ②New branding of future, ③Nurturing global talents of Korean food). Chef Jeong-eun Park of the Korean restaurant Atomix in the United States will moderate the presentations and panel discussions.
Chef Vicky Cheng of restaurant "Vea" in Hong Kong, Chef Thitid Tasaanakajohn of restaurant "Le Du" in Thailand which was named No.1 in 「Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2023」, Chef Jun Lee of restaurant "Soigné" in Korea, Chef Yusuke Takada of restaurant "La Cime" in Japan, Chef Anh Sung-jae of three-Michelin-starred "Mosu" in Korea, Chef Park Jung-hyun of "Atomix" which ranked No.8 in 「The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2023」 and Chef Kyle Connaughton of "Single Thread" which earned 3 Michelin stars in San Francisco will participate in the discussion.
Vice Minister Han Hoon of MAFRA said in his opening remark, "Korean food has become a kind of cultural content representing Korea thanks to efforts of the public and private sectors and Hallyu or Korean Wave. I hope this conference can serve as an opportunity to promote attractiveness of classic Korean food to the world and discuss how to strengthen competitiveness in detail so that Korean food can lead the international culinary trend."
