Installation of quarantine X-ray scanner for livestock infectious diseases at Incheon International Airport

In order to prevent the inflow of livestock infectious diseases including the African Swine Fever (ASF) and foreign diseases and pests, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) installed and is operating 'quarantine x-ray scanners' for carry-in luggage of overseas travelers.
❍ Installed agricultural and 6 livestock products quarantine x-ray scanners in the arrival hall of the Incheon International Airport (June 25), and started operation from July 7 after a two-week pilot period.
* Installed 4 scanners in Terminal 1, and installed 2 extra scanners in Terminal 2 (previously operating 2 scanners)
Jae-uk Lee, the Vice Minister of MAFRA inspected the quarantine status of livestock infectious diseases including ASF by visiting Incheon International Airport, and urged strengthening of screening and prevention against illegal agricultural and livestock products by cooperating with relevant agencies.
